This chapter has helped me recognize that I need to strenghten my communication skills and patience in order to portray a more positive professional image. As a store leader, I communicate with employees, customers, vendors, and upper management on a daily basis. I sometimes find it difficult to remain patient and professional when I am stressed or dealing with a frustrating situation.
I want to improve how I present myself professionally. I have learned that a professional image includes more than my appearance. Attitude, communication, reliability, and behavior all contribute to how others view me in the workplace. Strengthening these characteristics will help me become a better leader and prepare me for future professional opportunities.
